The Riverside Theatre building
houses the rebuilt Stark
main stage theater and the new
Waxlax second stage theater. A
wall of glass soaring nearly to
the ceiling in the new tiled
lobby offers a view of Riverside
Park. “The Waxlax stage is built
for shows that play better in a
more intimate setting,” Sales said.
It’s a black box theater with
black walls and flexible seating
that can be converted from theater
style to tables and chairs.
The elegant main stage theater
features cherry wood accents
with the red carpet and seats.
Among the many performances
coming up this season at the
Riverside is “The Nutcracker’’
in December performed by the
St. Petersburg Ballet Company
of Russia.
At the Sunrise Theatre in Fort
