The Tasters Guild has a different winemaker
for each meeting. With thousands of wineries
and vineyards in the world, it is never a problem
getting something new to try each month.
Brett Smith, a representative for St. Supery,
spoke to the group before the meal, describing
each of the six wines to be tasted in detail. St.
Supery’s trademark varietals are Napa Valley
Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wines ranged in price from $10.99 a bottle
for the St. Supery Moscato 2005 dessert
wine, which went superbly with the Belgian
chocolate pie with Grand Marnier Sauce, to the
St. Supery Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 Dollarhide
Ranch for $80 a bottle. This complemented the
main course, Veal Dylan. Dinner and wine for
members of the Guild was $65 per person and
$70 for non-members.
Darryl Bey, founder and former president of
the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society, and his
wife, Gina Dean-Bey, a Fort Pierce dentist, have
been members of the Tasters Guild for nine
years. “We like the social aspect of the events as
well as trying new wines,” said Gina. The couple
