To feed the masses, all food will be prepared on site using
four refrigerated trucks and a team of more than 80 people
supervised by Tesoro Executive Chef Robert Shuger. “We
have a great team here to take care of the players, the membership
72
and VIPs,’’ Shuger said. “It’s a great opportunity to
create a sense of community within the Treasure Coast. It is a
bit overwhelming, but we will land on both feet. It is a welcoming
challenge.’’
Ginn’s goal, according to Tesoro’s Director of Operations
J.R. Congdon, is to introduce visitors to Tesoro and some
great golf. “They will enjoy a wonderful golf experience, but
they are also going to have a wonderful hospitality experience,”
he said.
“Hospitality operations will have 350 people working
throughout the week. We’re utilizing internal resources from
other properties. And we are reaching out to other local clubs
to recruit their people for the week,” Congdon said.
On the social scene, a pro-am draw cocktail party will be
held Oct. 23 followed by the Oct. 24 Ginn Classic Pro-Am
and awards party. Admission is free Monday and Tuesday
during the practice rounds.
