EDUCATION MEANS THE MOST
WHEN SHARED WITH OTHERS
Dr. Johnson Hagood is
one of fewer than 400
dentists worldwide
to receive accreditation from the
American Academy of Cosmetic
Dentists. It is an honor that speaks
to a high level of achievement and
competency. It is for this reason
that Dr. Hagood has become a
favored lecturer, visiting faculty
member, and guest teacher at
dental institutions of higher learning throughout the country.
The L.D. Pankey Institute in South Florida has been recognized
for more than four decades as being in the forefront of dentistry;
they improve the skills sets of dentists, technicians, team members
and patients through comprehensive advanced education.
Dental professionals from across the globe travel to The Pankey
Institute to learn the latest techniques. It is there that Dr. Hagood
teaches the latest concepts in the use of composites in cosmetic
dentistry. Spear Education in Scottsdale, Arizona is another
advanced dental education center renowned for their masterful
curriculum, gifted instructors, and hands-on training delivering
a fully engaged learning experience. Dentists and dental practitioners
seeking to elevate their knowledge of the industry will
travel to Spear for targeted, immersion continuing education. Dr.
Hagood regularly teaches cosmetics and occlusion (bite related)
procedures there to other dentists seeking to enhance their skills.
Dr. Hagood balances his practice in Vero Beach with lectures
across the country, such as a recent invitation by the West Coast
Dental Society’s meeting at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, FL, and a
visit to another elite study group of restorative dentists and specialists
called the Capital Study Club who meet in Baton Rouge,
LA for their annual career enrichment seminar.
In addition to his cosmetic dentistry practice and educational
activities, Dr. Hagood also offers the sub-specialty of non-invasive
treatment of patients suffering with TMD, also known as TMJ.
Although millions of Americans suffer from variations of this disorder,
help is difficult to find as treatment is rarely taught in dental or
medical schools. Dr. Hagood has trained with extensively in several
programs including Piper Education (PiperEducation.com).
Dr. Hagood and his family live in Vero Beach. When he is not
working, he is an accomplished artist and has had several showings
of his collection of landscape works in oils at local galleries.
His office is located at 2155 Ponce de Leon Circle, Vero Beach.

The Cataract Institute at New Vision Eye Center continues
to keep advanced technology at the forefront
Dr.Paul V. Minotty and Dr. Stephen M. Tate are pleased
to announce their newest acquisition, the VERION™
Image Guided System, bringing cataract surgery
patient outcomes to a whole new level. The Cataract Institute
at New Vision Eye Center is the first practice on the East coast of
Florida to acquire this advanced, high definition imaging system.
The VERION™ is a multifaceted technology that enhances
and aids the cataract surgical procedure with its ability to more
accurately measure the eye and image the anterior segment
landmarks. The system performs intraocular lens (IOL) calculations,
including astigmatic corrections, and guides the surgeon in the
placement of all corneal incisions and IOLs by flawlessly exporting
the information to other connected technology. Drs. Minotty
and Tate provide custom cataract surgery, giving their patients
access to standard monofocal lens implants as well as toric lenses
to correct astigmatism, and Near Vision lenses that can further
reduce the need for glasses after surgery.
“The VERION™ Image Guided System allows physicians to take
an important, and dramatic, step forward toward increasing
the overall efficiency of cataract surgery,” said Dr. Minotty. “This,
in turn, will lead to greater patient satisfaction levels and the
patient’s overall surgical outcome.”
The VERION™ Image Guided System is the last piece of the
Cataract Refractive Suite technology for The Cataract Institute.
The entire Suite is made up of four systems, all working in unison
to provide the best visual outcome for all patients.
“The system offers a multitude
of benefits, in addition
to those for the patient,”
said Dr. Tate. “This system
can help physicians and surgical
staff to minimize data
transcription errors, ensure
surgical consistency and
improve clinical efficiency,
in addition to improving the physician’s
precision and control during the surgery.”
The VERION’s image-guided technology is always sent to the
Institute’s surgical microscope, which means that all patients
receive the absolute best care, regardless of whether the
surgeon utilizes the LenSx laser or the traditional method for
cataract surgery.
Bringing the best advancements in cataract surgery and providing
excellent, hands-on patient care are the endeavors of The
Cataract Institute at New Vision Eye Center. With the collective
experience between Dr. Minotty and Dr. Tate, the latest technology
and a wide choice of intraocular lenses, patients on the
Treasure Coast are offered unparalleled expertise and attention.
Dr. Minotty and Dr. Tate practice at New Vision Eye and Surgical
Center in Vero Beach, the only center on the East coast of Florida
offering this advanced technology. For a consultation, call
