Meat eaters will love the District Burger ($18), a juicy rendition
that is topped with an assortment of condiments and
goodies of the chef’s making, including bacon, pickled ramps
and roasted tomatoes and served with a stack of rosemarysprinkled
French fries.
From District’s stellar wine list, we selected a lovely
French Rosé, a perfect summer wine that many restaurants
don’t offer.
We ended the meal with the Grand Marnier Souffle ($12),
drowning its ethereal lightness with the accompanying white
chocolate crème Anglaise, and vowed to try the Cinnamon
Sugar Donuts ($8) served with a tangerine and basil-flavored
pot de crème, the next time.
Because we know there will be a next time and that’s the
point. The District Table & Bar keeps bringing diners back
with its creative and consistently good food that ranks right
up there with the go-to restaurants in big cities. And it’s right
here in our own backyard.
District Table & Bar is one of the few restaurants to
have been awarded the Treasure and Gold Coast’s
“Snail of Approval,” for its effort to encourage local
farmers and use locally sourced produce and seafood.
