The annual Festival of Trees at the Riverside Children’s Theatre in Vero is a
huge hit, drawing thousands of people to see and bid on lavishly decorated
trees and elaborate gingerbread structures.
Seuss characters — and even meet The Lorax — while touring
the garden each evening during Holidays at McKee,” said
Christine Hobart, executive director of the botanical garden.
Heathcote Botanical Garden in Fort Pierce will again host
its nonprofit organization holiday market, but this time with
a twist. The St. Lucie County Historical Society is partnering
with the gardens to create a Pioneer Holiday Celebration on
Saturday, Dec. 11. Vendors will be nonprofit groups raising
money for their causes.
“Our Pioneer Holiday will include historical re-enactments,
cowboy musicians and poets, free pony rides and free visits
with Santa,” said Heathcote Executive Director Amy Dahan.
