SEASON OF CELEBRATION
Pierce City Marina, there will be a big party afterward. There
will also be a party at South Causeway Park, starting at 4
p.m. and featuring a variety of activities plus Santa.
In Indian River County, a tree-lighting ceremony will be
held just before the parade starts at Royal Palm Pointe. For

In Port St. Lucie, the Festival of Lights at the civic center on
Walton Road will begin at 2 p.m. Dec. 4. The Parade of Lights
will start at 5:30 p.m. and include Santa. A Santa’s Workshop,
where for $7 a child can make his or her own gift, will run
from 10 a.m. to noon at the civic center.
The Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach plans a larger-thanever
Festival of Trees on Nov. 20 and 21 with 50 decorated
trees to be auctioned off. Always spectacular, the event will
also feature music and a display of some of the most creative
gingerbread houses and buildings you can imagine. Wreaths
will line the hallway, and small trees, holiday gift items and
creative toys will be for sale as well.
For the first time there will be a holiday concert at 4 and 7
p.m. on the Stark Stage of the Riverside Theatre on the first
day of the Festival of Trees.
Fans of the Nutcracker will have a chance Dec. 10-12 to
see a new version called “Nutcracker: In Swing Time,” a jazz
adaptation of the Tchaikovsky score with more than 70 local

The Sunrise Theatre in downtown Fort Pierce is planning a
spectacular holiday season with Dave Koz and Friends offering
A Smooth Jazz Christmas, the Bayanihan Philippine National
Dance Company presenting a cultural experience, and
the St. Lucie Ballet dancing “The Nutcracker.” The State Ballet
Company of Russia will offer “The Nutcracker” on Dec. 26.
“It’s great to have events during the holiday week,” said
Renee Page, spokeswoman for the Sunrise. “It gives people
something to look forward to.”

At McKee Botanical Garden in Vero Beach, the annual Holidays
at McKee will run from Dec. 18-22, from 6-8 p.m., but on
Dec. 15, the Dr. Seuss sculpture garden and art exhibit will open.
