season, though. The Treasure Coast
is a boating paradise and a dream
come true for ecotourists who like to
photograph natural scenes and hike
the trails of the many state preserves
in the three-county area. There are
museums in each of the counties, with
each dedicated to a different theme
— boats, treasure, art and a variety of
historical themes.
Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach will
present some of the largest shows in
its history this year, spokesman Oscar
Sales said. Shows like “Guys and
Dolls,” “The Producer” and “Buddy,”
with 20 to 30 people onstage at a time,
were not financially feasible for the
Riverside until a dozen couples joined
last year’s newly fledged Patron Producers
Program and donated enough
to make big shows possible.
“We’ve known for a long time that
big, splashy musicals were what the
Treasure Coast audiences enjoyed,
but we couldn’t do more than one a
year,” Sales said. “With help from the
Patron Producers we were able to put
on 42nd Street last year, a half-milliondollar
show, the biggest we’ve ever
had. We broke all ticket sales records.
