The VITA I-Robot can be dispatched electronically to a specific room,
where it can set up a video conference between the patient and a doctor
just about anywhere else on the planet. The patient can show and describe
the doctor the problem while the doctor can ask and answer questions for
more accurate diagnosis.

Administrators knew the building had to be able to withstand
a Category 5 hurricane. When Frances and Jeanne
struck in 2004, Martin Memorial North’s elevators stopped
working and patients had to be moved to the first floor.
At Tradition Hospital the first floor houses the ER, diagnostic
imaging and a beautiful cafeteria with outside patio seating.
The second floor is home to four operating rooms with
a pharmacy and labs. The fourth floor includes 10 intensive
