One of the more interesting sights is a statue with the American eagle
swooping in to snatch the Ryder Cup trophy away from the Europeans. This
clubmaker’s workshop, below, is from the beginnings of a game that has
evolved into the high-tech metal clubs of today.

U.S. soil. Every two years the match play tournament home
course alternates across the ocean. The museum has a wing
dedicated to Ryder Club history and memorabilia.
Also celebrated is the history of the PGA Championship.
From 1916 to 1958, the format was match play until it was
changed to stroke play. One of the largest libraries of golf in
the world includes a special climate-controlled white glove
vault for very rare books and documents going back hundreds
of years. It is open to researchers by special appointment.
