Trends In Education
The convenient iPad has replaced burdensome notebooks and other materials for
both students and teachers. Students, right, take notes on their digital devices in class
and take the information with them wherever they are.
Katie Kutschinski, academic technology chair at the school. “The
teachers wouldn’t either.”
It’s hard to tell who’s having more fun or working harder — the
teachers or the students. From art to the sciences and even philosophy,
digital connections are transforming the idea of teaching and
learning. Mike Brennan, who teaches religion at John Carroll, for
example, seemed excited as he announced to a junior class he would
be giving a quiz. From his iPad, Brennan sent questions his students
could also see on the huge flat screen. Just as enthusiastically, they eagerly
went to work on the answers, though it didn’t seem like work.
It was more of an adventure researching information on their iPads. >>
