storm blows in over an artesian well spring at Adams Ranch
west of Fort Pierce. The highly mineralized water from the
spring, commonly referred to as sulfur water, comes from the
Floridan aquifer deep underground. The spring is 70 degrees
year-round and provides water for cattle, grass, birds and other
wildlife at the ranch. The thatched-palm structure is a chickee,
a dwelling built by Seminole Indians. This photo was taken using
