Smithsonian Offers WindoW to Florida’s Waters
Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit
at the St. Lucie County Aquarium
The Smithsonian Marine Ecosystems Exhibit is located in the St. Lucie County Aquarium

and features saltwater aquaria representing local Indian River Lagoon and Atlantic
Ocean habitats, interactive educational displays and hands-on activities including a
touch tank! Educational programs for the public, school and community groups are available
year-round. The Exhibit is an outreach effort of the Smithsonian Marine Station, a branch of
the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Natural History. A fixture in the Fort Pierce
community for over 40 years, the Marine Station is dedicated to understanding the character
and diversity of the marine and estuarine habitats of Florida. Public programs at the Marine
Station include a free monthly tour and annual Open House.

FRE admission the first Tuesday each month.
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday: 10am-4pm Sunday: noon-4pm
Monday (Jan - Mar): 10am-4pm Monday (Apr - Dec): Closed
