“Twenty-five-year-old homes are being
torn down, but that will not happen to this
residence,” says First Florida Development
contractor Paul Kleinfeld, who has built more
than 100 luxury homes in Sailfish Point and
South Florida. “This is a very, very special
home. Incredible detail and forethought went
into this home.”
Kleinfeld says the beachfront home at 3016
SE Dune Drive took two years to construct
with more than 140 pilings imbedded 35 feet
into solid rock. Using rebar as support, the
entire home is tied together integrally and
structurally as one large monolithic concrete
shell. “Most commercial structures do not
have that piling detail,” he says. “The home
has a beautiful architectural roof design and
today it still has that French country look.”
When completed in 1993 it was one of the
largest homes in Sailfish Point and one of the
new smart homes in the area. “With leadingedge
technology it is completely wired for
low-voltage lighting, and you can change
the air conditioning from another state,”
says Kleinfeld.
