TASTE OF THE TREASURE COAST
86
Diners enjoy the casual ambiance in one of The Tides’ three dining rooms.
and the veal scallopini with white wine, lemon, capers and
fresh fettuccini ($32) and crispy roast maple leaf duck with
some of those delicious whipped potatoes ($32) all sound like
good choices.
Taking its ocean theme, the menu is divided up into the
“First Wave,” appetizers and soups, the “Rips and Curls,”
meaning salads and the “Main Set,” the entrees.
We began with one of the Tides’ signature dishes, the
oysters 222 ($14). You get a total of six oysters done three
different ways — one version is grilled with mango butter
and a squeeze of key lime juice, another a nod to oysters
Rockefeller baked with lump crab and topped with a Pernodinfused
cream, and a third is crispy, cornmeal-battered fried
oysters in a tasso remoulade. We both liked the baked oysters
the best.
Located in a converted house, The Tides has been serving dinner for almost
15 years.
