Karen Kane Interiors/Bed Bath Kitchen celebrates 33rd Year
25
INTERIOR DESIGN/
HOME ACCESSORIES
This year marks Bed Bath
Kitchen’s thirty-third year.
Beginning as a small linen shop
for bed and bath, the business has
grown to 3000 square feet and
added Karen Kane Interiors.
The store, in the historic Fee
Hardware building on the corner of
2nd Street and Avenue A is packed
with accessories, including lamps,
furniture accent pieces, artwork,
plants, mirrors and much more.
“We’ve come a long way,” Kane
laughs. Over the course of 33 years
of offering decorating advice with
new clients coming in via word of
mouth, Kane is still surprised at
the success.
“Most people see the shop, walk
in and are surprised because they’re
not expecting to find it as full as it
is. The store is my passion. I enjoy
going to the shows to find new and
interesting accessories to keep it
changing.”
Kane, a licensed designer, has used
her skills to decorate many homes,
offices and even condo buildings in
our area. She is assisted by Bobbie
Hopkins (31 years) Gisele Flowers (23
years) and Tracy Williams (6 years).
Kane says putting the client first is
the key to her success.
“It’s really about the client. I decorate
for them and strive for 100%
satisfaction. God gave me an innate
sense of proportion and color coordination.
It’s a gift — not something
you can learn. I can’t sing or play
the piano, but I am able to put
things together well.”
So if you’re inclined to do your
own decorating or want help from
an expert, you’ll find everything you
can possibly need at Karen Kane
Interiors and Bed Bath Kitchen.
