Joe DeSalvo joined Indian River Media Group as a writer in 2022. He previously was director of specialty publications for the Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, where he and his department produced award- winning advertorials and advertising-based products for clients such as developers and car dealerships. Joe also served as the newspaper’s sports editor. He also held reporting and editing positions at newspapers in Fort Pierce, Stuart and Tampa. He and his wife, Mary, live on North Hutchinson Island.
