Where history meets celebration: Inside Fort Pierce’s 500 Orange Event Center

2-500 Orange

In downtown Fort Pierce, a historic landmark has found new purpose as one of the Treasure Coast’s most memorable event destinations. 500 Orange Event Center, owned by Stan and Jean Synkoski, blends timeless architecture with modern elegance, creating a setting that feels both rich in character and alive with possibility for life’s most meaningful moments.Built in 1935 as the city’s post office, the building also served as the federal district courthouse, a military recruitment center during World War II and the Vietnam War and briefly as FBI headquarters. Today, it stands beautifully restored, preserving vaulted Dade County Pine ceilings, original hardwood floors and architectural charm while hosting celebrations large and small. Since opening in 2021, 500 Orange has earned a reputation as one of the Treasure Coast’s most distinctive gathering spaces.

For the Synkoskis, the vision was about more than renovation. It was about revitalizing a community treasure. From the moment guests step through its doors, they are greeted with warmth and refined style. “We wanted to create a place where history and celebration meet. A space that feels elegant, but also personal, where every event is memorable,” says Jean Synkoski.
Clients praise the team’s attention to detail and thoughtful support, whether for weddings, birthdays, quinceañeras or corporate meetings. “Everything about this venue was wonderful. The staff was beyond helpful, the space was beautiful and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how perfect the location was,” reads a recent Google review.

Versatility is a hallmark of 500 Orange. The space accommodates up to 275 guests for weddings, family reunions, corporate events, banquets, fundraisers and celebration-of-life receptions. Historic architecture and thoughtful design create a tasteful backdrop for every occasion, from first dances beneath high ceilings to focused corporate meetings in inviting surroundings. Every detail, from reclaimed wood to period-inspired finishes, contributes to timeless sophistication.
What truly sets the venue apart is the personal approach taken by the Synkoskis. They work closely with clients from consultation to celebration to ensure every detail is executed flawlessly. Patrons often comment on how the building’s rich history adds depth to weddings, celebrations and community events alike.

Serving the greater Treasure Coast, 500 Orange continues to grow as a destination for events that honor tradition while making new memories. Its downtown location, just blocks from the scenic Intracoastal Waterway and local shops, makes it easy for guests to explore Fort Pierce before or after an event. With its blend of historic elegance, thoughtful service and heartfelt hospitality, 500 Orange Event Center is more than a beautiful space. It’s a place where stories are shared, milestones are marked and cherished moments unfold. “If you have not seen the inside of this historical building, please stop by for a visit and refreshment when you are in the area. You are always welcome at 500 ORANGE,” says Stan Synkoski.
