WalletHub has released results for its 2016 Best & Worst Cities for Your Skin report and Port St. Lucie came in last.

Analysts compared the 150 most populated U.S. cities across four areas: 1) skin-cancer prevalence and contributors, 2) pollution and smoking, 3) climate and 4) skin health and care. They focused on cities and not their surrounding metro areas. Read more about the metrics used here.

Port St. Lucie ranked among the top five cities for most skin cancer deaths per capita and earned an overall ranking of 150 out of 150, suggesting it is the worst city in the United States to live in for skin health.

Dermatologists interviewed for the study advised that residents of the worst ranking cities avoid sun exposure between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and encouraged reapplying sunscreen often. Time to take to the shade and lather on the sunscreen.
