Villa Nirvana in Vero Beach fulfills a homeowner’s every desire
BY JULIE TARASOVIC
Entering through the doors of Villa Nirvana is like stepping into a dream home complete with every gorgeous detail any discerning person could desire.
The 3,255-square-foot modern beach home, with three bedrooms and three full baths, sits on .23 acres and has amazing 360-degree ocean and wildlife views from each of its three levels. Only 15 steps from the sand, the home was completely renovated in 2016 by owner Mahli Lieblich, a developer and restoration specialist from Miami.
“This was a true labor of love for me,” Lieblich said. “I purchased the home to be my second home away from Miami. I love to come up to Vero Beach to unwind, enjoy and relax in this tranquil environment that I created. This beach area of Vero just north of Wabasso is being rediscovered. I think it’s really going to pop in the next couple of years with more renovations and modern homes like Villa Nirvana being built. It’s a fresh new look for this beach town.”
The original footprint of the house was designed by internationally acclaimed designer Michael Brosche in 1991.
“It was a wonderful beach house that was very choppy,” Lieblich said. “I wanted to bring a bit of modern Miami to Vero Beach so I took the house literally down to the studs, redesigned and revamped the space and created more of an open space that is aesthetically appealing, light-filled, elegant and comfy.
“People often think of modern design as sort of cold and austere,” she explained. “But I designed this home to have the feeling of warmth with soft clean lines, simple but elegant and to function the way we live today. It’s the kind of place you come to and not have to worry about a thing. Just bring your toothbrush! Everything else is done.”
HOME IS TECHNO SMART
With smart-house technology, Villa Nirvana is controlled through Wi-Fi by using iPads, which come with the house. Using an iPad, you can control the air conditioning (there are three zones), the security system, surveillance cameras, television, and a Sonos sound system with speakers throughout the house, which can function separately.
“Mechanically and electrically, everything is also up to 2016 code,” Lieblich said. “So the walls of windows and doors are all hurricane impact up to 175 mph, the metal roof is aluminum and good for 25 years, the gas fireplace goes up to 38,000 Btu and can heat the entire house if need be, and there is energy-reducing glazing on the windows and doors.”
The dining area has a custom glass table with seating for 10 and a 72-inch crystal chandelier suspended above.
Her passion, creativity and incredible taste for design makes Villa Nirvana so unique. No stone was left unturned when creating and decorating the home; everything about the entire house is nothing short of the best.
“The main floor is a very warm open concept with vaulted ceilings, a floating staircase with glass railings, and imported Italian porcelain flooring throughout,” she said. “The color palette I chose for the interior is all shades of grey and white. So we call it the house with Fifty Shades of Grey."
The main floor, with its sweeping views of the ocean, comprises the living room with a stunning gas fireplace, kitchen, dining area, mini gallery, full bath, theater-style family room, wraparound decks and an office/flex room.
PERFECT FOR ENTERTAINING
“This area is wonderful and easy for entertaining inside and out,” she said. “I wanted the feeling of a carefree ambiance of modern regal elegance and sophistication. The Italian designed Astra Cucine Custom Gourmet kitchen features double ovens, high-end KitchenAid appliances, cooktop, dishwasher, a Gaggenau built-in microwave, a 10-foot quartz island cooking center with counter seating, self-closing custom cabinetry from floor to ceiling, and a deep-dish kitchen sink with disposal.”
The open floor plan also features an elegant living room and floating staircase.
The kitchen overlooks the family theater, which has a huge television screen and a Gamma leather lounging sectional. The dining area features a custom glass table that seats 10 with a 72-inch crystal chandelier suspended above, perfect for casual or formal dining. A dumbwaiter services all three levels and the blinds on the windows are automated.
The third floor boasts a sensuous ocean view master en suite with a luxurious European-style glass master bath featuring a huge two-person shower, spa and lounging tub.
“The bed is heavenly for sleeping, designed by Huppe from Canada,” Lieblich said. “There is another flex room on the master floor for meditating or just enjoying the sounds of the ocean from either private balcony.
“If you’re in the mood for a little yoga, private sunbathing, watching the sun rise over the ocean or the sun set to the west, climb up the staircase off the master suite onto the rooftop deck,” Lieblich said. “It is simply magnificent. “We are at the highest point of anything in visible distance around us. And it is such a spectacular sight. The wildlife you see in the tropical greenery of the hammock below is something very special.”
The third floor master bedroom suite is exquisite with a custom Huppe bed overlooking a private veranda and the ocean.
In addition to all the living space on the second and third levels of the home, there is a guest suite on the first level. “This area is perfect for guests or a family with children,” Lieblich said. “It has its own entrance, two spacious bedrooms, full bath, kitchenette with dining area and a laundry room.”
Stepping outside, there is a summer kitchen with outdoor eating and entertainment areas, and a two-car garage with plenty of storage. There is also an outdoor shower complete with a doggie spa for four-legged friends, a digitally controlled sprinkler system with rain sensor, energy efficient exterior and interior LED lighting, and outdoor chaise lounges and dining table with chairs.
What else could you want with this maintenance free, turnkey home? Villa Nirvana certainly lives up to its name. As Lieblich has learned, “Discover Vero, Discover Yourself.”
