Captivated couple returns Cypress Lodge to its historic glory

After years of renovations, Jim and Deborah Ann Stroscheim are excited about welcoming guests once again to Cypress Lodge. DANIEL DYER PHOTOS

When Jim Stroscheim was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he and his wife Deborah lived in Port Saint Lucie. “He watched TV, listened to news on his phone, and smoked cigars. He stopped golfing, nothing. He was just gonna rot away, and I was like, ‘That ain’t happening,’” Deborah said.

So she found a fixer-upper and put him to work.
