Yankee by birth, but Cracker by inclination, Barbara Secor’s vast research and acquisition of Florida’s unique history belies her short term of residence here. She has read volumes of Florida history, much of it primary source material, and has traveled across the peninsula researching and investigating her interests.
Schooled in New England, she has a Baccalaureate in Latin & Greek and a MS in Education. She lives in Vero full-time and has enthusiastically embraced her new southern life, serving as a docent, donor, and board member of the Heritage Center and Indian River Citrus Museum and a docent at the Saint Lucie Historical Society History Center in Fort Pierce.
