Hamilton Farms will reopen for its second u-pick season on Sat., Oct. 18  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sun., Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Families and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to join the Hamilton family for a celebratory weekend of fun, fresh air, and the joy of picking one’s own pumpkins and fresh from Florida citrus at the popular u-pick, located at 1500 North Header Canal Road in Fort Pierce. My Fiesta Fairy’s petting zoo and pony rides, Sorelle Coffee Co. and Victoria’s Coffee will also be at the farm Oct. 18 and 19.

Hamilton Farms is a seasonal u-pick offering varieties of citrus, flowers and strawberries that can be picked during their particular seasons. Strawberry season will tentatively begin in December and end in March, depending on weather and crop availability. The u-pick will be open on Fridays starting in November, with the date to be determined.

The Hamiltons have been farming since the 1930s, with owners Matt and Jenna Hamilton being fifth-generation farmers and their three children being sixth.

“We look forward to welcoming families from near and far back to the farm for our second u-pick season,” said Matt Hamilton, Hamilton Farms co-owner. “Our family loves seeing everyone out here enjoying the sunshine and fresh air and picking fresh citrus together.”

Bingos will be available to pick, with clippers and buckets provided. U-pick pricing is based on the amount picked and crop availability. The Hamilton Farms Market will offer pumpkins, apples, Sutton Milk ice cream and milk, local honey, beef tallow products, handmade jewelry, and new merchandise.

Admission will be $5 per car at the entrance to the farm.

Visitors are encouraged to dress for the outdoors, as the majority of the farm is grass, sand or dirt, and to visit hamiltonfarmsupick.com/faqs for frequently asked questions regarding what to expect when visiting the farm.

“There is something really special about watching kids learn about where their food comes from,” said Jenna Hamilton, Hamilton Farms co-owner, “and we cannot wait to share another fun u-pick season with our community.”
