A Beach for All Seasons
You’ll find the beaches of Hutchinson Island nestled
between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River
Lagoon. With a rich history that tells tales of treasure;
our beautiful blues and outstretched beaches have
long been a source of beauty, relaxation and peace.
With the exception of our stunning State Park
beaches, the beaches on Hutchinson Island offer
free admission and parking year round. Whether
Summer, Fall, Winter, or Spring, a stroll along any of
the 21 miles of pristine and uncrowded beaches will
bring beachgoers just what they need for the perfect
beach day.
Check us out season by season and choose the one
that’s best for you.
SUMMER
Think slow and lazy days under the sun, toes in the sand.
Pack a lunch, refreshing beverages and soak in warm, lapping
waves along the shoreline. And, the ocean’s average temperature
during the summer? A welcoming 85 degrees. What
are you waiting for? Grab the whole family, your partner or just
yourself to enjoy the amenities at Pepper Park Beach,
Jetty Park Beach, South Beach Park or Waveland Beach Park.
WINTER
Winter is our most popular time of year…the climate can be
quite perfect actually. It’s when the humidity leaves and the
cool breeze is in swing. Bring your beach chair and a good
book and enjoy the peace and quiet along the shores on our
more isolated beaches such as Dollman Park Beach, John
Brooks Beach, Coconut Drive Beach Access, or Normandy
Beach. Looking to stretch your legs? Take a stroll along the
jetty at Jetty Park — walk along the Fort Pierce Inlet and
enjoy the breathtaking views.
FALL
In the fall, the temperatures remain warm, the rainfall decreases,
and the waves become ideal for surfing and kiteboarding. At
Fort Pierce Inlet State Park, Pepper Park Beach and Walton Rocks
Beach, bring your surfboard or boogieboard to catch a swell or
your camera to soak in the Florida beach scene.
SPRING
As the beautiful pink bougainvilleas and dune sunflowers
begin to bloom along our beaches, the cool mornings remain
while the day brings warm sunshine. Do something special
such as a horseback riding tour along Frederick Douglass
Memorial Park Beach to experience a relaxing adventure
while spotting wildlife along the shores and in the surf.
