Talk of the Town Hair Studio is not your typical hair salon — that’s obvious from the moment anyone steps in the door. With the rustic custom-made interior, people feel embraced by the warmth of the wood walls and decor handmade by the husband of the owner.

When one of the four stylists goes to work, customers say they know their requests will be heard and the results will be beautiful. “We’re a full-service salon,” says owner Larna Rothardt. “We specialize in hair color, such as balayage, ombre and highlights.”

The salon has a barber as well as cosmetologists and a nail tech. Rothardt says her daughter is training at the Paul Mitchell beauty school and will be joining the team at the salon in June. Rothardt has been in the business for 30 years and opened her salon in Sebastian 11 years ago.

Located across from Captain Hiram’s in Sebastian, the salon also specializes in hair styles for weddings. “When we do weddings, we put out a brunch and design it in the colors of the wedding,” she says.

The salon gives back to the community by participating in numerous community events, such as Shop with a Cop, Seniors’ Santa, Sebastian Grill-Out and Light Up Sebastian.
