BACK COUNTRY BY ROBERT ADAMS

Young EagleThis young bald eagle sits on a higher limb watching over young eaglets. When this eagle matures, its head will turn white. Soon the mother and father will bring fish to the nest to feed the little eaglets. Eagles often rebuild their nests, making them bigger each year — some are 8 feet across and 13 feet deep, weighing more than 500 pounds. Many bald eagles are habitual kleptoparasites, which means they steal fish from other birds. In Florida, they are most likely found around lakes and rivers.
