There is nothing like the McKee Children’s Garden
on the entire Treasure Coast. This magical place
opened just a year ago on one acre at McKee
Botanical Garden in Vero Beach. Blue mushrooms,
multicolor seahorses, chimes to play and winding
boardwalks all enchant kids and their parents when they
visit the garden. Catching sight of a pirate ship in a tree
is a wow moment for everyone.
The Children’s Garden is built at just the right scale
for youngsters and filled with opportunities to play and
learn and create a deeper bond with nature. Its colorful
creatures and features include the Blue Crab Reading
Circle and Stumpery, the entry Monkey Bridge plus the
wheelchair and stroller friendly Grand Entry Bridge, the
Fairy Forest and Fairy House, waterlily fountain and the
Karst splash fountain.
Exploring further, children can visit the music maze,
Bamboo Village Boardwalk and Bamboo Village Huts,
and the high point of the garden, the Scorpion Pirate
Shipwreck in the Grand Discovery Tree.
Curious? Visit the garden’s website at mckeechildrensgarden.
