they raised two sons and a daughter.
He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical

and is a fan of Porsche 911s.
John Biondo
A Marine Corps
veteran, John,
who has one son,
grew up in Fort
Pierce and lives
in Vero Beach. A
photographer by
profession, he also
enjoys drawing and
computers. He is
inspired by other artists and music and is
really into ancient beliefs.
Rob Downey
A photographer
for 42 years, Rob,
who lived in a
van while starting
his career, is a
two-term mayor
of Melbourne
Village. A graduate of the University of
Connecticut, he and wife, Susan, have
three children. For the last five years,
he has been named an All-American
triathlete for his age.
Alto “Bud’’ Adams Jr.
A native of St. Lucie County, Bud has
been carrying a camera with him since
he was 10 years old and still takes photos
at the age of 90,
much of it focusing
on the wildlife
at Adams Ranch
west of Fort Pierce.

has appeared in
every issue of

Indian River Magazine since its first issue
October 2006. Bud began managing the
family ranch after graduating from the
University of Florida in 1948. Married to
the former Dorothy Snively for 67 years,
Bud continues to play an active role in the
management of the ranch with his three
sons and many grandchildren.
Lori Van Dien
A resident of
Jensen Beach, Lori
spent her formative
years in North
Vancouver, British
Columbia. A writer,
photographer,
video editor and
graphic designer,
she is also a sketch
artist who likes to travel. In her youth, she
traveled and sang with gospel singers in
Canada and the U.S.

Laurie Cox
A native of
Fort Lauderdale,
Laurie has a
bachelor’s degree
in elementary
education and
taught school for
10 years. A mother
of four children, she
also was a stay-at-home mom for another
10 years and has been with Indian River
Magazine for seven. To relax, she likes to
read and go boating.

Kelly Farish
A native of
Jacksonville, Kelly
grew up in the
South and lives
in Port St. Lucie.
A mother of two
stepchildren and
two grandchildren,
she likes golf,
tennis, shopping and going to the beach.
Kelly once lived in the Netherlands for
more than three years.
Sunny Gates
Sunny, who is a
third-generation
Floridian, has two
children and four
grandchildren. She
spent her early life
raising her family
and serving on
civic and nonprofit
boards. Inspired by her parents, Sunny has
served on The Florida Trust for Historic
Preservation for 13 years.
Marsha Lange
A native of New
Jersey, Marsha
has had a varied
career from
bookstore manager
to an advertising
salesperson for
a newspaper
and Indian River
Magazine. An avid reader, she likes
cooking gourmet meals, mah jong and
plays a challenging game of Scrabble.
Alan Pearce
Alan has had
a long career in
outdoor advertising
and print and
digital advertising.
He has lived in Palm
City for 20 years
with, Maureen, his
bride since 1956.

Larry grew up

the U.S. Navy
after high school.
He attended the

Florida on the GI
bill and spent 32
years working for
the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. He
and his wife, Donna, live in Port Salerno.
