THE EMERSON CENTER 2021 – 2022 SEASON
The Rocket Man Show, A Tribute to Elton John Thursday, Jan. 20, 7 p.m.
Simply put
— this is Elton!
Hand-picked
by Elton John
himself, it was Rus
Anderson’s own
live production
‘The Rocket Man
Show’ which got
him noticed and chosen as Elton John’s official
body double for his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’
world tour videos and photos! In the concert,
Rus recreates the magic and live persona of a
young Elton like no other. Storming around the
stage with a fun-loving sense of flamboyance;
part diva, part soccer player, killer vocalist, fierce
piano player, all rock & roller. His painstaking
attention to detail includes wearing gorgeous,
colorful & spectacular costumes (many worn
by Elton) including his iconic boots, glasses
and jumpsuits from 1973, as well as a sparkly
Swarovski tuxedo from 1984. It is an extremely
sincere, visual, theatrical, funny and interactive show, but
most of all it is musically beautiful. There are ballads and
driving rock songs. Audiences laugh, cry, sing and dance as
they recall the highs and lows of Elton’s legendary concerts.
Remember when rock was young? You will after this show!

Expand Your Mind at the Emerson Center this year! The Emerson
Center in collaboration with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
of Vero Beach Social Justice Committee presents the E-Series at the
Emerson: Speakers, Films and Forums.
At times while watching “The Vaccine Wars,” viewers will be asking
themselves, “Was this documentary made for people to learn
about and discuss the two vigorously opposed positions people
are taking today on whether or not to be vaccinated for Covid-19?”
In fact, the film was made in 2015 before anyone heard of Covid.
The biggest controversy raging that caused the film to be made
was that over the rise in autism cases and whether it was being
caused by childhood vaccinations. This documentary presents
both sides of the story in a dispassionate manner. Join our panel
after for an informative discussion! All E-Series programs are open
to all and free of charge as part of the Emerson Center’s mission to
provide quality educational and thought-provoking events for our
community.
