PIERCE 1 MARINA PLAN WILL
TRANSFORM FISHERMAN’S WHARF
Imagine going to Fisherman’s Wharf in Fort Pierce and having
several restaurants to dine at, a retail area to shop in, a
boardwalk that can take you on a leisurely stroll downtown,
a water taxi to ferry you to popular waterfront destinations,
residential and retail spaces and a state-of-the-art fullyautomated
boat storage facility to keep your vessel in.
That’s the vision of Christopher Shelli and his Shelli Associates,
LLC, a Fort Pierce-based finance and development firm that
on March 22 was awarded the coveted redevelopment of the
Fisherman’s Wharf project by the Fort Pierce Redevelopment
Association.
“I could not be more thrilled to be awarded the project for such
an exciting and important project in the City of Fort Pierce,” Chris
Shelli, President of Shelli Associates, said. “This was by far one
of the most important, and probably one of the most difficult,
decisions the FPRA board has had to make, but I believe our
project prevailed based on our concept, our financial feasibility
and sustainability and because of our amazing local team. I
cannot wait to work with city staff and commissioners to get this
project started.”
Shelli Associates, LLC ,is a leader in the finance and development
industry with more than 40 years’ experience in financing billions
of dollars of major projects throughout the United States and
internationally. The firm has worked with clientele providing
financial recommendations, assistance in obtaining loans for
large scale commercial projects, and managing contracts and
development projects. The Fisherman’s Wharf project is being
100% fully financed through Shelli Associates.
“Many new developments are struggling to find financing
for their projects,” Shelli said. “Not only are we financing the
Fisherman’s Wharf project, but we have dozens of other projects
throughout the United States and internationally worth billions of
dollars that we are providing financing for.
Shelli Associates’ conceptual plan currently named Pierce 1
Marina, includes two 2- story signature restaurants, residential
and retail spaces, marina with a water taxi, lighthouse tower,
a boardwalk connecting the project to downtown Fort Pierce
and a fully-automated innovative dry stack boat storage facility
(Boathouse).
The proposed Boathouse will utilize the most advanced
proprietary software in the world. The fully automated
crane technology provided by Maff-Stack, LLC will
maximize the facility’s dry storage capabilities and
minimize boat retrieval time to the fastest in the world. Shelli
believes the boathouse will put Fort Pierce on the map in the
maritime, boating and fishing industries. “This building will
be hurricane rated to at least
a category 4 hurricane, is
environmentally friendly with
it’s solar paneled roof and boat
washing system, and will offer
white glove concierge service
to its clients. As the first one of
its kind in the world, I believe
boating and fishing magazines
will want this facility on their
covers, putting Fort Pierce on
the map in the maritime arena.”
Christopher Shelli is the president
of Shelli Associates LLC, which was
awarded the redevelopment of
Fisherman’s Wharf by the Fort Pierce
Redevelopment Association.
Plans also include monthly
“Rockin’ the Wharf” events
with concerts, food trucks, and
festivals taking place along Indian River Drive and the boardwalk.
Planners of the concept were determined that the project
complement, and not compete with, Fort Pierce’s other projects
including King’s Landing and Derecktor Fort Pierce.
Shelli Associates have offered a long-term lease option and will
immediately begin negotiations with city staff and other adjacent
property owners. Once permitted, construction for the entire
project is expected to last 18-24 months.
