 Historic downtown is transformed for a one day festival featuring historical re-enactors, ghost  
 tours, historical trolley rides, rustic crafts, and Old Florida Authors Alley. Hear history sessions  
 at the Sunrise Theatre on the history of Seminole Indians and piracy along the Treasure Coast.

 11 a.m. — A HISTORY OF THE 
 AIS CULTURE ON THE TREASURE COAST 
 Presented by Archaeologist Alan Brech, who has discovered  
 the location of nine Ais towns along the coast, including the  
 paramount town near Vero Beach. Long before the Europeans  
 and even the Seminoles, an ancient people known 
 the Ais roamed the coast. 
 1 p.m. — WE REMEMBER BACKUS 
 Relatives, friends and students recall the life of Florida’s  
 preeminent landscape artist, A.E. “Bean’’ Backus of Fort Pierce,  
 and how he inspired generations of art students  
 and the Highwayman movement.
