Florida Artists Hall of Fame as a group.
In November, the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency honored
the group with a grant-funded 20-foot obelisk featuring mosaic duplicates
of their paintings. The obelisk, in a new roundabout at 15th
Street and Avenue D, was created by noted Florida artist Stephanie
Jaffe Werner. It will serve as the starting point for the Highwaymen
Heritage Trail.
In Fort Pierce, where many of the Highwaymen grew up, there is
increasing awareness of the value of having a dedicated Highwaymen
