Imagine sitting among lush greenery at a restaurant by the banyan tree on the banks of the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. Tiny lights strung above create a magical feeling. The Grove dining experience at Port St. Lucie’s Port District on Westmoreland Avenue is designed to be like no other in the city.

Three restaurants and two bars are expected to be ready in early 2027. Groundbreaking is in September. Two casual restaurants are expected to start construction in 2027.

“The whole idea was to put in a world-class facility that would blend sustainability, history, our river, and the botanical gardens,” said Port St. Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin. “That wow factor is going to be our standard going forward.”

As much as possible, the vegetation that will be used at The Grove will be mature trees and plants. It is all in keeping with the city’s plans to create more green spaces and places in coming years, Martin said. “We wanted to create more natural shade than just putting up shade cloth. We wanted something that our residents would say is different.”
