The practice recently welcomed Dr. William Monahan, DO, and Dr. Matthew Voelker, DO, to a team that includes 21 other specialists with a passion to help patients recover, regain mobility, feel better and return to the activities they love as soon as possible.
A board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon and a fellowship trained adult reconstruction and trauma specialist, Dr. Monahan earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and Master of Science in Medical Sciences at the University of South Florida before completing his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
He continued his training with an internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields and further refined his surgical expertise with and Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center, where he specialized in traumaplasty.
Dr. Monahan and his fellow medical team members at South Florida Orthopaedics are committed to a compassionate approach of care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

Dr. Matthew Voelker, a fellowship-trained interventional spine and pain management specialist, is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, where he earned a Master of Science and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degrees. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, Florida, and his fellowship training at Cantor Spine Center In Fort Lauderdale.
Dr. Voelker’s training in physical medicine and rehabilitation, along with 12 years of experience in wellness, nutrition and massage therapy, emphasizes enhancing and restoring functional ability and quality of life to patients using a comprehensive range of treatment modalities.
“New technology and treatment options have made it possible for patients to experience a level of care not possible even just ten years ago,” Dr. Voelker said.
