The Highwaymen: Art / History
January 8 – March 6, 2022
The famed Florida landscape painters, first known in the 1950s
as the artists who sold their work from the trunks of their cars,
deserve a closer look. This new survey brings to light these
outsider artists’ innate visions, revealing the inventive style,
confident strokes, and collaborative spirit that would captivate
countless patrons, define their movement, and demand their
place in the history of art.
