Treasure Coast Jazz Society
Mission: To foster and expand a greater awareness of this
great American art form by bringing the finest national
and international jazz musicians to the Treasure Coast for
our concerts.
Next concert: The Ken Peplowski Quartet, “Jazz at Noon,”
Saturday, March 21, at the Heritage Center, 2140 14th
Ave., in downtown Vero Beach. Doors open at 11 and the
concert starts at 12:30 and runs until about 3 p.m.

The 2008-2009 scholarships were presented to Richard Carston
Jones, guitar, and Emilio Rutllant, flute. First-place winner
Jones rose through all of the skill levels in jazz at Indian
River Charter High School and will attend Florida Atlantic
University’s Honors College.
Rutllant, the TCJS second-place winner, has been principal
flutist with the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony and Vero
Beach Symphony Orchestra and is flutist for the Treasure
Coast Woodwind Quintet. He studies with Latin jazz flutist
Nestor Torres.
The final Jazz at Noon is scheduled for March 21, with The
Ken Peplowski Quartet. Clarinetist Peplowski will be accompanied
by Johnny Varro on piano, Charlie Silva on bass and
Ed Metz, Jr. on drums.
