Treasure Coast slowly hits 500 mark in coronavirus cases
The Treasure Coast today hit the 500 mark in coronavirus cases today while the documented spread of the virus in the region continues to slow down.
Today’s report from the Florida Department of Health showed St. Lucie with 236 cases, Martin with 174 and Indian River with 90 cases. The new numbers represent just an additional 26 cases for the weekend.
Also over the weekend, St. Lucie County had an additional coronavirus death, a 91-year-old woman whose case was first reported April 22. That brings the total deaths on the Treasure Coast to 30, with 20 deaths in St. Lucie and five each in Martin and Indian River.
Florida has 32,138 cases of coronavirus and 1,088 deaths, according to the report from the Florida Department of Health.
