Treasure Coast coronavirus testing surpasses 10,000 mark

Coronavirus testing of people on the Treasure Coast broke the 10,000 mark today as the growth in case numbers continued to decline. Meanwhile, the Treasure Coast remained free of reports of coronavirus deaths for St. Lucie, Martin or Indian River for the eighth consecutive day.

St. Lucie, double the size of Martin or Indian River, has reported 5,336 people tested with 284 people (5.3 percent) having positive results. In Martin, 2,561 people have been tested, with 261 people (10.2 percent) having positive results. In Indian River, 2,343 people have been tested, with 100 people (4.3 percent) having positive results. Florida has had 561,741 people tested with 40,982 (7.3 percent) having positive results.

The Treasure Coast reported just eight new cases overnight: six in Martin and two in St. Lucie. Indian River has not reported an increase in cases in four days. A total of 39 people have died from coronavirus on the Treasure Coast: 25 in St. Lucie, eight in Indian River and six in Martin. Florida has had 1,735 deaths.
