WORLD’S LARGEST CONVENIENCE STORE PLANNED

Few announcements in 2025 generated as much buzz along the Treasure Coast as the news that Buc-ee’s, the Texas-based chain famous for its spotless restrooms and cult-favorite snacks, will locate the world’s largest convenience store north of Fort Pierce.
The project began in 2024 with a roughly $10 million purchase of 35 acres at the southeast corner of Interstate 95 and Indrio Road. The massive facility is expected to draw travelers from up and down the coast and is set to open as early as 2027. The store will feature more than 76,000 square feet of retail space along with 120 gas pumps, 700 parking spaces and 18 EV charging stations.
While Buc-ee’s typically generates approximately 200 permanent jobs with competitive starting wages well above regional averages, local officials have also talked about significant tax revenues tied to sales and fuel taxes that could exceed $70 million over time — a boost for city services and county infrastructure.
