Ms. Shanen Cox, an experienced marine biologist with 14 years as a
marine mammal trainer, brings a wealth of knowledge from diverse marine
environments—Hawaii, California, and Florida. She’s worked with a range of
marine mammals, from dolphins and killer whales to seals, sea lions, otters,
and penguins. Ms. Cox has held significant roles with NOAA as a marine mammal
hormone scientist and as a stranding response team member. She’s also
contributed her expertise to Harbor Branch, serving on both the dolphin
population assessment and marine mammal stranding response teams.
Her unwavering passion centers on the ocean and its
remarkable inhabitants. Ms. Cox derives great satisfaction from sharing her
extensive knowledge and experiences with the public, in the hope of instilling
a heightened sense of responsibility for the marine environment.
