ON THE WATERFRONT
BANKING FOR THE FUTURE

City formulating makeover plans
for riverfront property
Although it’s a little more than a stone’s throw from
whizzing traffic and multitudes of stores on Port St.
Lucie Boulevard, a grassy parcel of land on Westmoreland
Boulevard is an oasis of green peace and
quiet. A grand old banyan tree hovers over the shoreline of
the North Fork where only the birds chirp and the occasional
sound of a boat going by interrupts the silence.
Some of the most beautiful acres in Port St. Lucie are up for
a makeover, but their new look is still a work in progress and
a final decision could be six to 12 months away.
The 9.7-acre waterfront park on the shore of the North Fork
of the St. Lucie River is next door to the flowers, shrubbery
and trees of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens.
RIVERWALK EXTENSION
Just a few thousand feet north, on the north side of Port
St. Lucie Boulevard, a boardwalk meanders along the river’s
shoreline from a boat launch just south of Veterans Memorial >>
