For a stronger, more flavorful wine, she likes
cabernets, which are a Bordeaux style red.
Tish Stevens, the bookkeeper at Roy’s
Liquors in Fort Pierce, likes a white wine
made from the white Gewurztraminer grape.
It is produced by many companes, but her
favorite “is a little sweet, from California, produced
in the German style by Thomas
Fogarty,” she said.
Another favorite white wine of hers is a
Pinot Gris. “It’s the same varietal grape as
Pinot Grigio, and the one I like comes from
the vineyard A to Z in Oregon.”
She likes a Pinot Noir red wine produced by
Z’ivo in California. “This is traditionally a
light grape, but the Z’ivo is more full-bodied,
and goes well with both turkey and ham,” she
said.
For ham, Leanne Kelleher likes the Evenstad
Reserve Pinot Noir produced by Domaine
Serene in Oregon. “It’s very popular and has a
lot of depth,” she said.
If you haven’t yet settled on any favorite
wines yet, keep an eye out for upcoming wine
tasting events where you can sample and get
some lessons on wines and develop your
own list of favorites.
