MUSIC
with audience participation. The second
72
concert spotlights European
composers: Johannes Brahms, Franz
von Suppe, Mikhail Glinka and others.
This is also the concert that features
the Young Artist Scholarship
winner in a solo performance.
Looking to the long-term success
of the Treasure Coast Symphony, the
Toricks understand how important
community participation will be.
Financial support for the orchestra
comes from corporate sponsors,
donations, and bequests, but its primary
source comes from ticket sales.
As for the performers: “We depend
on volunteer musicians with a certain
amount of skill to keep a balanced
ensemble. Our hope is that the
Treasure Coast Symphony will continue
to provide musicians with an
outlet for their performance and to
provide the community with an
orchestra they can proudly say is
their community orchestra.’’
