As nightfall approaches, the Jupiter Lighthouse stands as an illuminated sentinel over the Jupiter Inlet. Construction of the
lighthouse began in 1855 and it began operating in 1860. The lighthouse is the oldest building in Palm Beach County. No
longer functioning as an official lighthouse, it is owned by the U.S. Coast Guard and managed by the Loxahatchee Historical
Society. For visitor information, call 561.747.8380.
